I really liked the focus on being multi-lingual but in a different sense than speaking in different regional languages. It was very relevant for my work and the stakeholders I need to engage with all the time at the university and on boards.

The main thing and I think I already do it to some extent is to think of who is my audience - namely what language for who and what will work. How do I speak to my finance people, different to my peers, different to faculties, different to students when I am navigating an initiative, an system improvement etc. Very much looking at how I keep a multi-lingual perspective in mind as I navigate some big systemic changes at present.

In my work, I would apply a greater awareness of leadership languages when interacting with colleagues, board members, and stakeholders. While I already seek to adapt my leadership style to the situation, this concept provides an additional lens for understanding how different people prefer to communicate and engage.

It reinforced the idea that effective leadership requires flexibility and an understanding of what motivates and resonates with different people. The situational leadership theory resonated with me when discussed earlier in the course and this added another layer to that for me.
