Relationships: shown through the connectedness of animals to the Indigenous peoples in books such as the moon of the crusted snow by waubgeshig rice in the beginning when he kills a moose and thanks it when it dies. 
 Self-determination: this is shown in the moon of the crusted snow by waubgeshig rice.  When Evan the main character begins to re connect with his ancestors and he doesn’t have to but her is decided to choose this path which is a right path in his community.

Sovereignty: in the book moon of the crusted snow by waubgeshig rice. This is demonstrated by the small rez community having a band office which makes all the decisions for the Rez and it well being. This allows them to self govern there community.

Feather being very prideful of her indigenous self, she spreads awareness of systematic racism, violence, and the murders of indigenous women.
Relationships: Turtle Island by Drew Hayden Taylor. Mini-Tupac starts off the story not liking the pet turtle ‘island’. Later on he gains a closer connection with the turtle. Almost representing him getting a deeper connections with his indigenous background.
Self-Determination: In the movie Indian Horse, Saul loves hockey. He wasn’t old enough to play nor did he know how to skate or play. But on his free time or multi-tasking chores, He taught himself how to play, how to skate, and bonus tricks that turned him into a professional hockey player later in his life. He was determined to become good and to play on the team and successfully did it.
Sovereignty: When residential schools were a thing in the movie “We were children” and “Indian Horse” canada as a sovereign country made those schools and the rules around it. His relationship with his family he does it for them to make them good people in the future and to teach them hunting and fishing to get them ready for their life and his communities treats them like they are a part of a big family and he cares for them and not himself. His Sovereignty is to calm everyone down and comes up with the ideas that is fair to everyone in the community during the aggressive winter season they are having. His self-determination is that he doesn't give up on protecting everyone from the outsiders that are coming into the community and trying to keep the fairness of the supplies.
