It really influenced the food I like, the way I talk, and the relationships I have with people. I am used to cheese steaks, WaWa's, and the Eagles. Cheese steaks are natural for me and when I moved to South Carolina the food that I used to eat was foreign to people here. And barbecue and soul food didn't really exist to me. But I really do love it. WaWa's are like gas stations that are really upscale and nice. You could go shopping, get gas, or get all kinds of food there. They don't exist here which kind of sucks but it's alright. My vernacular has also changed. Some words people don't use down south, and some words I didn't use, like y'all or fixin. I still pronounce water like wuter. My neighborhood wasn't very strict, and anyone could build anything on their land (given they bought the land, obviously). I could've had one neighbor that owned a mansion, and one that just had a tent. Also it's by the beach so I'm used to being outside and I was always at the beach. There are a lot of things to do and I'm always with friends and going places. It influenced my life be aye I've been here since I was born and it's kind of all I know. It's a good environment and affected my life in a positive way for sure. If I lived in a big city things would definitely be different and I would be a different person for sure because I would get used to being with people who act way different than the people here. Also I go to a private school and I always have so I've ne rr experienced anything bad or any bad environment and positivity is kind of all I know. Because we're so close to the water I've always liked to swim, fish and surf. There are more kind of food, etc. When I moved to Myrtle Beach I think it affected me because of less population and everything is always the same because SC is small and you know basically know everyone unlike in Hong Kong.

Not very many people live in pawleys so I always had very close friends who live very close to me so I can way hang out with them and see them everyday. Having everything so close to me helped me go do some things by myself like go to the gym, I normally go by myself a sometimes with friends, going by myself helped me become more independent and get used to doing things by myself and becoming comfortable with it and confident. Connecticut is definitely different compared to South Carolina. South Carolina is usually very humid so when I moved here I wasn’t used to all the humidity. People who were born in South Carolina, or who have lived here for many years have picked up a type of southern accent and even use words like y’all. These past couple years I have definitely developed a southern accent and have been using the word y’all a lot. In Connecticut the closest beach to me was about an hour away. So I rarely ever went. But now that I live in South Carolina the closest beach is about 10 minutes away. There was also a lot of animals. Now I'm a really big animal person and I love farms and the country. Since there was a lot of fields and trees and woods, my brothers and I would play outside and climb trees and have adventures. Sometimes when I climbed trees I would fall out of them and now I'm afraid of heights. A lot of people travel from all over to visit the beach.  Everyone knows everyone in pawleys which is a lot different from big cities. From first grade to eigth grade my life was centered on traveling to Myrtle beach everyday and being in the car to go to school. I was involved in a lot of sports, extra curricular activities and clubs. But now that I’m going to a school in my town I cannot get to expierence the atmosphere more and grow closer to my friends and people living here. From living here, I’ve grown to cherish my close friendships. It made me have an everlasting want for the cold and love for snow, but didn't really shape how I view anything. However it did change how I viewed family. When I lived in New York I wasn't really around any other family members they were either in Massachusetts or South Carolina so it was just me and my mom really. I think living in New York showed me that your family doesn't have to be somebody related to you, it can be friends that care about you dearly who truly become your family.
