The Arch was a building technique that was used by the Romans and it still used today. The Romans were able to effectively build arches due to their usage of concrete, and proof of this effectiveness is that many ancient roman buildings still stand today.

Ancient Rome had a very unique way of governing for it's time. They had the first republic, where citizens could elect people to represent them and make decisions for them. People in office could only hold that position for so long before they were forced to give up that seat. Each branch of the government had checks and balances to keep the other branches in check, so that no one branch became too powerful at one time. This is heavily reflected in the American government of today, where people vote on representatives to vote on things higher up, and they also have a system of checks and balances in place.

The Romans made many impactful inventions in their time, from war focused weapons like the ballista, to creatively focused things like cement and raised sidewalks. They even invented the 5 pulley crane, which made construction much easier and a modern adaptation of which is still used today.

Julius Ceaser was a brilliant military leader and a successful politician. He rose to fame and claimed power, shutting down the republic and becoming dictator. Which wasn't necessarily a good thing, but it shows how much influence he had. The people of the empire loved him because of what he did for them, but a group of senators realized that although it looked good, this was not going to turn out well for Rome in the long run, so they assassinated him.
