I wasn't sure what was going on at the time I thought I had asthma because my brother has it as well. After the game I told my parents about what happened on the field and they took me in to the doctors and I got an EKG on my heart. The tests came back and the doctors said I had a heart condition called WPW. I was actually surprised because I thought my parents were over reacting about the whole situation. I had to wear a monitor on my chest during practices and during games to try and catch one of the heart palpitations. Finally during one of my games I had another episode and it was recorded on my heart monitor so the doctors could confirm what I had. We later decided to get surgery during winter of sophomore year. Unfortunately they could not find any holes in my heart so it was unsuccessful. Then during the summer going into my Junior year we drove to Ohio to get another surgery done with a better doctor. This doctor was one of the best in the nation in this field and I was very lucky to get him as my surgeon. He found 3 holes in my heart and burned them shut. And after that I have had no problems. During my senior year of football our team worked very hard during the offseason and during practice each day to finally make it to playoffs after four years or so. During our first playoff game we beat Fenwick by a pretty good amount so that games was very fun to play in. Our next game was going to be our hardest yet against Batavia at their field. The morning of the game it was very foggy out and it just added to the emotions. We were up the whole game but we fumbled in the 4th quarter and they tied it up making us go into overtime. We got a field goal to start off overtime but they scored right after that. There are no word I could use to describe the swing of emotions right after they scored. All the hard work you put in with your brothers on the field over in a second. To make things worse Batavia went on to win the state championship over Lake Zuric.
