Their job was to care for statues of gods. This was the Pharaohs job but they often gave it to priests. Priests had to feed, clothe, and wash the statues. This was an important job because the Egyptians held the gods responsible for everything. If there was a flood, they would think the gods did it because they were angry. To keep them happy, caring for the gods statues was very important.
