https://padlet.com/elizabethacallen/73rkq31qmoa2 I was personally not a huge fan of Ratliff’s book. This is not because of his writing style, but due to my lack of musical interest. Ratliff did have interesting points when it comes to music, and now when I listen to music, I think about the power of a single note. It has changed “Bohemian Rhapsody” for me. I also found the part about exclusivity interesting. I did not understand it at first but the idea of making a genre that is set for exclusive listener is the opposite of what I listen to. Pop is meant to please many in the population. Whereas “Tomorrow Sunny” is just a lot of weird sounds that only few can appreciate.
