         <description><![CDATA[<div>Melba Beals: She graduated from San Francisco State, became a reporter for San Francisco NBC, and wrote two books. Now she is in the communications department at Dominican University. Carlotta Lanier: She graduated from the University of Nothern Colorado and is now doing real estate. Elizabeth Eckford graduated from Central State University. She is now a probation officer and still lives in Little Rock. Ernest Green is a senior managing director and also created a Disney Channel show called “The Ernest Green Story”. Gloria Karlmark was chief of computers but retired in 1994. Jefferson Thomas served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in South Vietnam. He then was in the family business but retired in 2004 and unfortunately died in 2010 from pancreatic cancer. Minnijean Trickey graduated from Southern Illinois University. She went on to become a social activist and served in the Clinton administration. Terrence Roberts also graduated from Southern Illinois University and became the dean at UCLA. Finally, Thelma Mothershed worked at a juvenile center and then the Illinois school system for 28 years and retired in 1994 where she lives in Little Rock.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
