         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Starts each class with a daily quote: inspirational (keeps on the board for remainder of the school day).</li><li>Used the smart board to demonstrate how to solve the algebraic problem</li><li>After walking the class through the steps: he checks in to see how everyone is feeling about it and allows for time for students to come to him 1:1 (15 minutes for students to complete an exercise. </li><li>Some students went to his desk for additional help</li><li>He also walked around the room to check in with students</li><li>He then asked if everyone was done and redirected the class to focus upfront- reviewed the exercise as a group.</li><li>After observing this class-the teacher sent up a student because she seemed “off”, he asked her if everything was ok and she started to break down-he then sent her to the guidance offices. She met with the school counselor intern; the teacher called the counseling offices two times to make sure the student made it there ok. Once he class was dismissed, he came up to the counselors’ suite to check-in and make sure his student was there and ok.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Student-parent-counselor-meeting in regards to truancy concerns. Assistant principal started the meeting by introducing himself. He then discussed the attendance policy and legal courses of action that may take place if unexcused absences occur. He also worked with the parents before the meeting to discuss appropriate presentation to the student that would be most meaningful; highlighting how license may be suspended and parents also have to pay fines. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Collaboration with parents and counselor.</li><li>Professional demeanor and friendly deposition when interacting with student: very direct as well.</li><li>Left the meeting right after he shared his part in the meeting; to then go assist other matters. It would have been helpful if he could have stayed the whole meeting as the parents ended up having several questions for him toward the end of the meeting.</li></ul>]]></description>

When readily available communication sources failed, he took other measures to make sure his student was taken care of.</li></ul>]]></description>
