During these meetings they usually ate like it was Chinese New Year, played mahjong, and talk about there losses and hopes. They called themselves The Joy Luck Club. Then their daughters born in America continue this tradition and each girl reveals painful secrets trying to get to the truth about her life. Each time a secret is shared it gets more confusing but keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting to read more. It was a bit confusing about who was talking and who was telling the story.
