- Nixon wanted to create a bond with Asia so that North Vietnam could feel the pressure they are in
- Nixon restored diplomatic relations with communist China.
- Detente- a relaxing of tensions.
- Nixon introduced it as sort of the tension between the united states and the soviet union. he wanted the building of nuclear weapons to stop. 
- Nixon went to Moscow and signed an agreement with soviet leaders to limit the developing of nuclear weapons.
- Nixon agreed on selling grain to the soviets to help with food shortages.
- When there was war in the middle east the Soviets and the US joined forces to cooperate in pressuring Israel and Arab states.

After, Nixon saw what was happening he tried many ways to control inflation, but everytime he tried something it would prove unsuccessful.
-Nixon passed a law called 'The Environmental Protection Agency' or 'EPA' the law was created to protect the environment. If a building or any other project was going to be built it needed to pass certain details, Nixon also signed the law named 'Endangered Species Act' it protected any endangered animal so that action could be taken.
- The equal rights amendment was proposed for woman's equal rights , it was created by Alice Paul, she was a sufferage leader and founder of the national woman party. At first the amendment failed. Later, in 1972 it was finally approved by the congress, it was also sent to the states for seven year ratification. The amendment still failed.
