“Harmony with nature and sustainable development” is the theme of the 2025 edition of IDB.10.03.2025 г.

As part of our Green STEAM journey, students from grade 2 at 54th Secondary School “St. Ivan Rilski” joined a road safety training event on the school’s biking course. The young cyclists practiced riding safely while learning to follow traffic signs and rules.

This fun and educational activity was part of the National Innovation Programme and brought together students and teachers from schools in Sofia, Ruse, and Targovishte. Together, we explored the link between eco-friendly transport and responsible behavior on the road—because sustainable futures begin with smart choices today!

With guidance from their teacher Ms. V. Stankeva, the students created innovative and green urban development projects, combining imagination, responsibility, and STEAM thinking. Their work was exhibited publicly and received recognition from the school’s headmistress and the organizers.

This activity empowered our young urban planners to envision a smarter and more sustainable city — proving that the voices of sixth graders matter!

As part of the UNESCO-SEMEP project, our students have been awarded the "Best Nature Conservation Project Award" for their work on the harmful effects of pesticides and ways to reduce their use. 🌿

We wholeheartedly congratulate our students for their meaningful contributions to protecting the future. 🌱🌍

Guided by their teacher Mrs. Silvia Tsvetkova and guest speaker Mrs. Anna Lazarkova, students engaged in games and open dialogue about aggression, its causes, and positive ways to respond. They learned how empathy and cooperation—core values of sustainable living—can strengthen relationships and school life.

This event supported the project's aim to promote emotional literacy, social responsibility, and a healthier environment—both in nature and in our daily interactions.

To celebrate International Biodiversity Day, students from class 6B together with their Biology teacher Galina Kozhiharova explored the area around our school with a fun and educational Biodiversity Bingo!

They searched for plants, insects, birds, and signs of nature’s richness, marking off each discovery on their bingo cards. The activity helped them observe the environment more closely and appreciate the variety of life around us.

Learning about biodiversity has never been this fun!
