Bhd and the rest become the journey of learning new things in the field of tourism every single day.

Before calling to Dynasty World Travel Agency, I have called several travel agencies, submitted several resumes hoping to get a practical placement but it all turns out to be disappointments till I called Dynasty World and they agreed to arrange me in an interview the day after. 

After the interview, I was asked to attend work based on my preference date, and I decided to start it out the day after the interview itself. On the first day of work, I am taught with the flow of the company's management, customer service and certain procedures in applying for China Visa. 

In the end of the day, I have learnt that different documents are required to apply China Visa based on the time duration of travelling/ visitation when applied such as (3 months 1 entry), known as a single entry or (6 months 2 entires), known as double entries. Besides that, China Visa can be categorized into 2 types which are Visa for tourism and Visa for business purposes. The theme of the flyer will be based on free, easy and relax travel destination that is surrounded by emerald sea, giving a brief idea on how Pulau Tioman actually look like and stated that it is suitable for all ages of tourists. 

One of the highlights on the flyer is the accommodation available at Pulau Tioman, such as "Bubu Villa" that can accommodate large amount visitors that come in a group and wish to stay in the same compartment of rooms. 

Besides from designing the flyer, later in the afternoon, I was also taught in more details regarding of the documents needed to apply for China Visa and to be sent to the embassy. Concluded that, China passport holder with a Malaysia working permit can apply for Turkey Visa through e-visa by the Turkey Embassy with certain documents on hand when entering Turkey immigration. 

Such documents are, a copy of round-trip tickets/itinerary, copy of recent bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds (at least $60 per day), a valid visa and a copy of confirmed hotel reservations. Application visa through e-visa method will be approved in 24 hours if there are no problems in the application form. Airbnb is a platform that enables people around the world to lease or rent short-term lodging which includes vacation/ apartment rentals, homestays, or just renting hostel/ hotel rooms. 

And today marks the first contact with the United States Airbnb host in renting out her apartment to our customers. Asking question regarding of the apartment, how to access, facilities in the apartment and anything that need attention on are rather difficult due to the time zone between Malaysia and the United States. Nevertheless, the process of masking off the doubts and the payment is rather a smooth and easy procedure. Overall price rental for the whole apartment for 10 days will cost the customer 5,700 MYR. All payment will be paid by the travel agency first before requesting the total amount of fee charged from the customers.

Customers seem to be fewer when it comes to Thursday to Saturday. But works still need to be done, hence certain works were split between me and my other colleague in retyping potential hotels names in every state of Malaysia along with the contact rates offered by them.

Besides from just retyping the hotels' names to be filed in, we are also required to double confirm the hotels' recent contact numbers, check the contact rates' validity and sort out all old contract rates. If there are certain hotel's contract rate has expired, a new contract rate has to be asked to prevent any price confusion. Asking contract rates have its own procedure to follow too, for example by calling the respective hotels' sales department for email and send all related documents that they wanted before sending the hotels' contract rate to us. Where they showcased Pahang's new and old but well-known attractions that allow inbound and outbound tourists to experience magnificent wilderness, cool highlands retreat, and sun, sea, sand trips. Before the dinner of Pahang Nite, all invited guests and travel agencies' representatives are invited to join B2B (Business to Business) session where most of the Pahang's vendors from resorts to food & beverage sectors introduced their company's specialty and give along with their best contract rate to agents.

During this talk, we found out that in conjunction with "Visit Pahang Malaysia year 2017" the department of Tourism Pahang have also launched their very own mobile apps, where tourists can find Pahang's attractions with Waze map inside the apps, hotels nearby them and even restaurants or road stalls that sell delicious delicacies. Through this talk, we get to know that Tourism of Pahang have put a lot of efforts in expanding their tourist spots and also using the technology way to tag along peoples' attention by creating their very owned mobile application. These brochures have to sort out and put it in a shelf compartment under the tag of "local" at the agency that I am working with now. By this way, it is easier to look up as a reference if any of the customers wanted a local trip. 

Despite from just arranging brochures from Pahang, I also take this opportunity to arrange all of the brochures from local to overseas available at the shelf and labeled it according to their respective country. Besides from just asking for the trip quotation, we also specially requested for a customised itinerary Eastern Europe according to customers' will in inserting certain sightseeing places that they wanted to explore such as Hallstatt, Austria. 

Around in the afternoon, I was assigned to serve customers who were asking about the day trip in Ipoh along with 2 Days 1 Nights at Pangkor Laut. As itinerary are mostly custom made in the agency hence, a promise to return back to them with sufficient information are made but brochure about Ipoh was given to customers as a brief reference on what Ipoh can bring excitement to them. After the customers left, I was to find several Pangkok resorts that worth 3 stars rating and above and write emails to them asking for contract rates and price quotations. It is because there is a large group of customers whom signed up for a group tour package to Bangkok flying there this weekend. Hence preparation of their trip need to be prepare beforehand, such as writing departure and arrival cards for immigration purpose, doing rooming list, prepare each customers' travel tags and also pack all 34 luggage bags that were given free to the customers by the travel agency. 

After settling preparation for Bangkok group tour, I proceed in writing a reminder message via "Whatapps" for customers a week before the tour trip. I have learnt that in writing a reminder message, it must not be too long but the need of message to be short and precise. As old documents needed to be cleared out for better filing in the near future, all of my colleagues including me are required to sort out all the documents, by categorize it into "wanted documents" and "recycle paper". By sorting out all the documents, it took us about half a day to accomplish the task.

Later on, I am required to plan 2 Days 1 Night itinerary trip to Penang. Hence I proceed by searching all of the famous attraction and plan a route that is along the way back and fourth the hotel, just like "joining dots puzzle".  In the itinerary, I also concluded Penang's recent famous attraction which is "Penang Avatar Secret Garden, Tanjung Bungah" where mystical lights are draped on tree branches in a myriad colors that dazzle brightly from any angle.
