Milestones: Milestones are to be checked in with my parents constantly each week during Term 4 wither by just having a chat or note taking just to ensure the reliability and the progress is actually working. I aim by term 4 to be able to evaluate and better analyse or quickly through the intake of information via news or books.

Practise: To read and watch news every day just to be able to visualise and understand the current world better. This tiny goal will establish my foundation for analysis and interpretation

Anticipate Obstacles: There will be challenges such as confusing news reports or articles that I will read but I have dictionaries, parents and the internet to search up what it may mean without exposing and unveiling the true meaning behind those actions.

Check-In Plan: Every 3 weeks I will be checking in with mm parents also for my accountability buddy to choose a random news source from that day and we start analysing and discussing about what we can realise and infer from the given information and text.

Transfer: At the end I will be able to show this growth from my journals and the feedback given from my parents and peers about my analysis skills.

My history source analysis feedback serves as a clear example of my improved analytical and interpretation skills, directly reflecting the intentions outlined in my impact plan. The "insightful analysis of the type, origin, content and purposes" of sources, as well as my evaluation of their "usefulness, bias and reliability," demonstrates my ability to apply the skills I aimed to develop. The feedback proves that I am very consistent on practicing interpreting news and books, as detailed in my plan, which is establishing a solid foundation for my analytical abilities.

The plan's milestones of constant check-ins with my parents and accountability partner directly led to a positive outcome in my task. I successfully applied my learning from the news to a different context, a key component of my plan's "Transfer" stage. This is not just a theoretical improvement, but a demonstrated one, as evidenced by my use of "the language of source analysis and referring to the sources" in my response.

Looking ahead, this validated growth provides a strong foundation for future academic and real-world success. The skills I have earned are not confined to a history classroom, they are essential for effective problem-solving and decision-making in any field. By continuing to practice with diverse information sources, I will become faster and more adept at evaluating complex situations. This will benefit me in future studies and my career, enabling me to approach challenges with critical thinking, confidence in speaking with other people and judgement skills.

This directly supports my impact plan as reading news allows me to make more thoughtful and informed decisions about the world around me. For example, when the U.S. government recently shut down due to disagreements over tax management, many public workers went unpaid, causing widespread issues and public frustration. By analysing situations like this, I can better understand how poor decision-making and lack of cooperation at higher levels of government can affect everyday people.

This awareness connects strongly to my impact plan, which focuses on responding thoughtfully to real-world challenges and developing informed perspectives. Through consistent practice and reflection, I’ll be able to apply these skills not just when reading the news, but also in discussions, school projects, and daily life, ultimately allowing me to contribute more meaningfully to conversations about global and community issues.
