In higher education, it is important to provide students with ample support. This includes mental, health, and of course, academic support. Additionally, higher education supports students with any Title IX incidents that may occur in campus or out of campus grounds. This topic was chosen because it is important for students to feel safe at all times.

Sexual violence is a topic that is not often talked about. When an incident related to this matter occurs, women and men tend to feel ashamed, and do not open up about their experiences. It seems as this has become more common in higher education grounds, such as, parking lots/garages, or parties. This may negatively impact students in many ways.

Recently, in 2019 a new bill in Texas was passed to support sexual violence. If an employee in higher education were to obtain any sort of information in regards to this matter, they are required to report it. This may impact work, because if not reported in can become a crime.
