ATB should plan a strategy in order to react to the new entrants in parking meter industry. They should consider differentiation strategy by offering a product and service that is unique from what their competitors offer in the market. ATB is an established company for more 30 years in parking meter industry and hold 90% market shares in Europe (especially Germany) and United Arab Emirates (UAE) for sale of parking meter international distribution network, they have an experience and knowledge about the industry. Apart from that, ATB need to invest in research and development – (focus on innovation) and change business modal to maintains a competitive advantage over rivals and explore new target market (average cities) and develop mobile parking systems that unique and easily use by user. ATB also need to invest in marketing to promote mobile parking and create awareness and campaign among people in average cities about mobile parking. Another strategy is build business to business relations with average city municipalities and offer the introduction rate for example 3 years. Lastly ATB uses progressive technology and makes investments in new technologies to boost productivity and efficiency. By using resources wisely and effectively, the business has been able to retain economies of scale. This is crucial to keeping competitive differentiation.

The mobile parking is replacing the parking meter purpose and the usage of parking meter become obsolete. This also will effect the business of activities and operation in ATB including the spare parts supply business.

Regarding production, there are no longer talking about a product but about a service that is sold to municipalities. There are no more production sites, no more procurement or suppliers of raw materials, everything is digital, which reduces the whole structure of the company and therefore the costs (payroll, production site, raw materials, transport, etc.). On the customer side, the same target is not targeted, particularly since municipalities that already have a parking meter system may wish to acquire a mobile parking system, which increases the number of prospects for mobile parking suppliers.

Hence , ATB has a solid business model in place which can be adapted to possibilities and the imperatives of technology.
The mobile parking companies are mostly start-ups by technicians that have no prior experience in manufacturing parking meters and are solely targeting a specific parking demand . These companies lack a sound business model and are mostly taken up by automobile companies in an emerging trend for in-car services that allow drivers to find and pay for parking spaces .
