Joeun Kim & Giselle Segura
This national park is located in Oregon. The lake was formed by a volcanic eruption which caused a collapse of the peak. Gradually, the collapsed peak cumulated rain water, creating a natural lake. The depth of the lake goes as far as 1,943 feet. The Crater Lake is believed to have formed approximately 7,700 years ago. The volcano was initially discovered by Native Americans in the Cascade mountain range.

The most accessible part of the park would be the South Rim which is open all year. However the North Rim is only open for about half of the year. Inside the canyon, there are are many opportunities for hikers and backpackers to go through, but in the summer, there is little shade and the temperature can go up to 100° F
(>38°C).

This Park was established in 1928 in Utah. Known for its unique geology, the canyon is covered by "trees of stone"-- or rather, stone spires. These rock columns were created alongside other features via the slow erosion of limestone. In addition to these rocks, the park is also populated with spruce forests. Void from both air and light pollution, Bryce Canyon provides for excellent stargazing.
