Raya said they are currently using 4M/year. 2M for behind the scenes, 2M for on the ground work.

I’m curious about what percentage of that was their full promise budget and how we’ll determine what to continue to protect/scale back.

I’m thinking about buckets bc 1M in the Mission is not the same as 1M in Hayward. (And, their foci differed)

I liked how someone named that there’s an emotional toll built into this grant. Bc it’s intended to go away and roles as is will end, it’s important to acknowledge that piece.

Lots of thoughts around what’s been tried / what the root needs are regarding access/barriers to math mastery at HS level. Personally hit close to home for me bc my kid went through a very similar journey and it’s messing with his college goals.

Another thing that stuck with me was how one PN director pointed out how given the context where everyone is going for the same grants, it's almost counter-intuitive to be in partnership (especially after grant period is up). So, making sure to build intentional understanding around what people are going for, and supporting them and taking turns. I thought this was super powerful and I'm curious how to build that type of mindset.

We do a good job posting on social media but our posts could include more data and story telling. How do we activate partners to share this on an on-going basis instead of just when it is required for reporting OR can we have HTA pull highlights from partners to share on social media?

Also, social media is only one form of communication. We have email, which I know is in the works of restarting, but we also need news coverage/stories of what we do.

I have noticed a lot of our Promotoras have moved on to new work opportunities or to continue their community engagement work with partners and other agencies. It would be nice to create a map of all the places our Promotoras have landed to show how the training we provided is impacting the whole city or county. (Some are with EYFC, HUSD, EDEN UCC, etc)

NHEN/CAB

Our biggest needs are housing, food security, and Mental health access. NHEN and CAB could be used to address these. When will they restart and which partners will participate?

Our website is now out of date in terms of staff and some programs. We need to ensure we have this up to date so the community can better access our resources.

During the conference I understood the conversation through the lens of working with students. The conversations that had the most impact for me were in the pre-conference meeting where we discussed steps on authentic forms of care and trust.

In another presentation after school programs data showed that after school programs where students will be helped with homework or tutoring are not being engaged by students and funds would be better used by enrichment programs, things that are fun for students. I thought this was common sense. But also reaffirmed why data is important.
