         <description><![CDATA[<div>I am a British bacteriologist who discovered something extremely important about bacteria. I discovered that bacteria can change its form and function.   By using and injecting rats with strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae, I was able to show that there was a transforming factor in the bacteria.  </div>]]></description>

         <title>My Experiment</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I used two different strains of the bacteria.  I used one rough strain and one smooth strain and injected each into a single mouse.  The mouse injected with smooth strain died and the rough strain mouse did not.  I then used heat in order to kill the fatal strain and injected this into the mouse.  As expected, the mouse did not die.  However, when I injected another mouse with a mixture of the rough strain and heat killed smooth strain (both which resulted in a living mouse)  this mouse died.  </div>]]></description>

         <title>My Conclusions</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My experiment showed that the bacteria had the ability to change somehow in order to kill the host. I concluded that there was some type of transforming factor that allowed the bacteria to change. My discovery was extremely important, because we now know that our vaccinations that we create can be surpassed by bacteria that find ways around them.  This gives us a leg up in fighting diseases and sicknesses by researching vaccinations for transformed bacteria.  </div>]]></description>
