When I heard the first half of this quote, I was disappointed. However, when hearing the full quote I was amazed. I always felt easy tasks were too simple, so I messed them up. When there was a challenge, I was competitive with myself, giving me extra work. The quote was inspiring because I’ve known that I’m sometimes clumsy with the simplest tasks. For example, I sometimes add two digits together incorrectly, but I solved 10th-grade math equations. The quote related to me directly, making me learn that I need to pay attention more.

I might be old and outdated, but Bruce still uses me consistently. I sit on a desk in his room, watching him leave for school. He organizes his backpack and leaves the house. I usually wait eight hours for him to come back and sit on his desk chair, facing me. He turns me on and opens his school resources. The tabs he opens include Google Drive, Canvas Homepage, and homework documents. They have information storing his work and academic status. Further, Bruce thoroughly checks for assignments on each subject’s page. It shows me his responsibility and prioritization of classwork. Then, he starts typing on my keyboard at a moderate pace to work on his assigned digital activities. He looks focused with his eyes glued onto my screen, reading each sentence he types. 

Once he has finished his digital assignments with me, he continues on homework using paper and pencil. I get to watch his neat handwriting as the point of his pencil shines with a sharp edge. Once he has completed all his homework, he re-checks the subjects and turns me off. Then, he starts watching his smartphone and scrolls through social media. From my perspective, I’d say Bruce is an organized and moderate student.

Hearing this quote reminds me of chaotic students from my current and previous schools. They yell at teachers, disrupt class lectures, and slow the class learning progress. When my mom heard this behavior was active in my school, she told me not to be influenced by them. Her words inspired me because I've grown to be an above-average student. Further, teachers like me as a student in the classroom with my positive attitude. If I had not listened, I'd have been a bad influence on others. I follow the quote as I keep improving my grades and social status. This quote taught me the importance of being obedient and maintaining a positive attitude in school.
