Using headphones to listen to the audio (or very quiet playback of the backing track), record your vocals. The recording should feature vocals only.

7. Import your recorded audio into Audacity (add any desired effects to the vocals)

8. Import your backing track into audacity

9. Line up the recorded audio with your backing track

10. Export the track (as WAV) and use your now recorded song, use this to film your music video.

    You can mime or sing along to the recorded song - its up to you!

11. Import your footage into movie/film editing software (CapCut on smartphone), (iMovie on larger apple devices)

12. Import your audio into the movie/film editing software

13. Line up your shots to the words of the song and edit clips until you're happy with the outcome.

Using CapCut

1. Upload your final recorded track (vocals and backing track) to padlet

2. play the track and click the button with 4 diagonal arrows

3. Click the three dots at the top

4. Click share attachment

5. Scroll down to save to files

6. Edit title of file at the bottom if desired and then click save (top corner)

7. In Capcut, import your chosen videos

8. To import the audio, click audio then sounds and then the icon that looks like a folder

9. Click 'from files' and then 'import from files'

10. Choose the track you have created

11. Begin lining up your videos with the audio

Dance skills are important in the performing arts industry as it it a core factor when it comes down to main performances. all musicals feature dance in the big numbers, even if you don't realise, dance is everywhere!

Dance is also used in Musical Theatre to help create energy, excitement, and an overall visual spectacle for the viewers and enjoyers. it can also be used as a story-telling device, being used in a more elegant and light manner This can be seen in the introduction scene for the BSDC Production Of Beauty & The Beast (2024), in which the story of the beast is told in a beautiful and light ballet number which is very easily explainable to everyone and portrays a clear story.

Dream Ballet is a performance that is all in dance, no-singing production in Musical theatre. They usually run as a normal piece, however the big difference in Dream Ballet is that it is professional dancers instead of actors in the performance.

With its dynamic movements and syncopated rhythms, Jazz brought an electrifying energy to the stage, complementing the overall mood and atmosphere of the production.

But one question stands tall (not actually, dawn just wants me to talk about it, thanks dawn 🙏):

Why Jazz was Chosen for the Musical?

Well you see, the director of the production, Rebecca Frecknall, chose jazz dance as a key element in the musical's aesthetic for several reasons, some of them being:

- Jazz dance is known for its expressive and energetic qualities, making it a perfect fit for the vibrant and eggy setting for the Musical

- Its improvisational nature allowed the dancers to showcase their individuality and create unique performances that resonated with the vibes the musical.

Frecknall was drawn to jazz dance for its historical significance within the cabaret culture, adding an authentic stamp to the production and enhancing the overall viewing experience for the audience.
