I didn’t have anything to do at the time so I told him I'll be there in a bit so I grabbed my jacket and phone, and I started to leave. Brian lived pretty far, and I didn’t have my car because I let my friend Gabriel use it to see a concert, so I took a biking trail that took me to his neighborhood. It was very cold, and while I was walking towards Brian’s house I wondered if he had bought any games, or if he even knew how to use the damn thing.

At first I thought it was just Brian trying to scare me, because he was like that. But as I walked closer and closer, I got a chill on my neck. Not because it was cold but because as I walked closer to the man it became more clear that it wasn’t a person, but a clown with a very distorted and disturbing face. I didn’t know how to react so I just stood in place, frozen, as I stared into the face of the demon. He started to come closer and without thought I started to run the opposite direction. I couldn’t think of anything as I was running, all I felt was the presence of the demon behind me.

So I hid before he could spot me. I was breathing hard, so I told myself to shut up. As I calmed down I heard the clown’s footsteps above me, my heart was racing and felt as if it was beating out of my chest. He couldn’t see me, but I was still terrified of the thought of him finding me. My body shut down and my mind was blank, I couldn’t do anything but sit in my spot and wait until he left or until he found me. As he walked away I took a peek to see if he had left, and when I did, he disappeared. I didn’t know if he was hiding so I would show myself or if he actually left. I didn’t think about it and ran back home. I got to my house and locked all the doors and windows. As I calmed down I went to my room. I couldn’t sleep the whole night and the next day I told Gabriel and Brian about my encounter, they didn’t believe me. I still have nightmares about that night and I promised myself that I would never take those trails again.
