We are also often approached for guidance in aspects non-pedagogical or non-subject content related. Having a deeper understanding of the 4 segments will allow teacher leaders to provide sound advice on how teachers should conduct themselves professionally. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Basically we cannot just do what we want otherwise there will be chaos. Hence, the code of conduct which provides what is expected of educators.<br><br>As a teacher leader, the 4 segements reminds me of two things:<br>1) leading by example in lifelong learning ie. professional development of self and others&nbsp;<br>2) in teaching, relationships are important and critical. We are not dealing with inanimate objects, but people. The code gives a set of guidelines to follow with regards to students (TSR), colleagues (TTR) and parents (TPR)&nbsp;to ensure that trust, integrity and professionalism is upheld at all times.</div>]]></description>

This is especially crucial when educators face ethical and moral issues in our line of work, and the code helps educators to make decisions to maintain the dignity and integrity of our teaching profession.&nbsp;<br><br>The four segments in the code help me to understand the responsibilities that I have as an educator. As a teacher-leader, I would need to role-model the attitudes and behaviours, as well as provide guidance to my fellow colleagues that is consistent with the Ethos. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The code of conduct serves to guide educators in our actions as part of the Singapore teaching fraternity. This is especially important since we hail from different backgrounds and have varying personal values. But even so, we need a shared system of professional values and ethics.<br><br>The four segments can help me help my mentees know and understand the professional responsibilities we undertake with regards to different stakeholders and the consequences for breaching these boundaries. This would be particularly helpful for BTs or younger colleagues who may not have prior work experience and lack the necessary communication skills to remain professional at all times.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Every organisation has a CODE in which the members of it must follow. From the ancient societies to the modern conglomerates, a CODE justifies, unites and maintain a decorum of the organisation. MOE is no different. Even the Jedi , the Sith anf the Mandolorians have their code (kidding here). The Samurais have theirs. The Templar Knights have theirs, the Freemasons have theirs and the list goes on to the lawyers, doctors, law enforcers...<br>The CODE is relevant to the members of the organisation and it will guide the way the members of that fraternity interact within and around others. It determines the way we conduct ourselves because as individuals, we are different. Some can argue that it is a Gel that binds us in our deeds and words, thoughts and aspirations.&nbsp;<br>Down to the level of the individual, for me, it is the beacon that shows the light and direction in which I shall carry out my duties as an educator- to serve the students, colleagues and community.<br><br></div>]]></description>
