Love and Kindness do indeed change the person from the inside. For me, I have experienced this strange but powerful force. My mum never scolded me, no matter how bad i got, she just gave me a gentle push into the right direction. She suffered for 13 years for me but she never became angry with me. After realising her suffering, I don't know what came over me but I adjusted myself to free her from it from then on and now I don't give her a headache everytime she sees me. This sentence means that you can guide someone in the right path but it is their choice to take it. It's common sense, you are a different person than the people all around you and so are they, both of you don't have control over each other. People keep forcing a lazy person to work, they give them all the resources and time. But they cannot change who that person is. Only the person can change themselves. This somehow annoys me, imagine wasting your life helping someone and expecting them to change but all you get is suffering. Don't work with that person. But someone who is ready to change, in that case give them gentle pushes. It will be a extremely slow process but it will work like magic. So just work with gentle push and don't waste time with a person who isn't ready to change.
