Een uitspraak van hem wordt hier geciteerd, deze begint met "niets bestaat" en hoort bij metafysisch scepticisme. Dit houdt in dat het helemaal niet zeker is wat er buiten ons en onafhankelijk van ons bestaat. Volgens de auteur van het boek is dit geen vrolijk perspectief, ik weet niet helemaal zeker of ik het hier me eens ben. Is het per definitie negatief als je iets niet weet of ergens geen kennis over kan krijgen?

Ik ben van mening dat complottheoretici er tot op een zekere hoogte wel bij horen. Zij twijfelen namelijk of bepaalde gebeurtenissen plaats hebben gevonden en of dat dus zekere kennis is.
