Lessons would stop briefly when there were Funeral processions passing by the school. The sch gate was still facing the Marsiling block of flats then. No lift and the teachers were a resilient lot. I graduated from this school and went on to get BSc with 2nd Upper Honours in Psychology. Mr Thiru inspired me to love Tamil despite my bad handwriting.... and enabled me to score A1 without tuition! He trusted my speech writing capacity for the school's Tamil debate team which beat RGS to emerge the Interschool Debate winners. Mr Raja was a hilarious PE teacher, Ms Govind made anyone feel geography was do-able... this was where i learnt to overcome stage fright. Some of the friendships formed here are still staying strong today. Today we are parents inspiring the next generation. Thank you Woodlands Secondary School!
