1. NAFTA aimed to build a free trade area and offer a basis for a wider economic partnership covering. It is a much losser body that has more limitations than EU. EU actually aims to the political issue.
2. NAFTA refers to the whole western hemisphere. However, EU only involves the 28 European countries.
3. NAFTA has strictly intergovernmental decision -making processes. EU takes the multilevel governance, which the policy proess has different levels to balance.
4. Controversial issue with America, large disparities in wealth, education and economic structure between America and Canada.

1. Formed in part as a response to the growing pace of economic integration, NAFTA was intended to provide the basis for a wider economic partnership covering the whole wetern hemisphere. It differs from the EU in that NAFTA is a smaller, looser grouping.
2. NAFTA covers fewer countries than EU. NAFTA aims to phase the tariffs on agricultural and a variety of manufacturing goods, and to allow lorry drivers to cross borders freely. That is, NAFTA is more looser than EU.

4. Since 1991 to 1996, the most important trading bloc in South America, MERCOSUR, has experienced a slow growth in the level of trade. This is partly because of the financial crises in Brazil and Argentina. A further reason is that Brazil, with 79% of the group's population, has far more influence than any other country.

NAFTA does not have the usual supranational institutions that are found in the European Union EU, for example, they have no commission, no court justice and this excludes competition rules from its dispute decision procedures, which in contrary ends up in differences on competition rules that are forwarded to the World Trade Organization. The lack of excess robust competition rule within NAFTA hinders the progress of North America

1. The establishment of ASEAN is the purpose of Southeast Asian countries to protect their national security during the Cold War. Especially the confrontation with big powers and the settlement of internal disputes.
The main difference is that ASEAN was established for the self-protection of members, while the EU was established for the cooperation of members.

2. different

3. The difference between the two is complex. The first is the difference in membership. The main members of the European Union are all European countries, and the ASEAN members are all Southeast Asian countries. The second is the difference in the scope of integration. Powerful countries such as France and Germany in the EU can lead the integration process, but ASEAN still does not have a powerful country as the leader of integration. The third is that the European Union tends to free trade among member states, which is a borderless economic activity, while ASEAN wants to rely on the regional economy and rely on Asian powers. This kind of behavior is not free in terms of sovereignty.

4. The problems facing the EU are slow economic growth and high unemployment.
Small Asian countries such as Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia are facing the problem of low economic growth rates, while large countries such as China and Japan are facing high unemployment rates. The most impressive development is Singapore, where the economic development is increasing and the unemployment rate is low.

1.The reason for ASEAN is to build confidence among Asia-Pacific nations and strengthen dialogue on security issues. In addition, to provide protection against future financial crises.
2. ASEAN members are concentrated in Southeast Asian countries and lack of economic powers to join.
3.First, ASEAN is committed to building a free trade area, with more economic and political diversity than Europe and even the goal of a common external tariff. And ASEAN has been firmly inter-governmental, with its emphasis on national sovereignty, but this has prevented a more centralized decision-making framework.
4. ASEAN's political conflicts of interest are not as intense as those of the EU, because ASEAN is first and foremost built to maintain regional security and peace, and its member countries are of equal strength.
