  • It’s day 91 and we are still here. Jimmy lays on the beach for a couple of hours each day, relaxing showing no worries. Heidi (MW) still trying to grow some new plants and herb, but no improvement. The plane’s(R) food was finished four days ago and all we have is banana and coconut. There are some strange fruits all around the island, but we don’t have the courage to test it(WW) especially after watching a bird died(WT) right after having some of that fruit.
  • We are still respectful towards each other, but spend most of our time alone. Except for meals, which has been reduced to two for a while, we barely see each other. 
  • They still have hope for help (R). They are still fighting for all of our lives. I don’t have hope for getting (R) rescued but life is worth living till the moment comes.

    I like this sentence because it corresponds to my being. I usually focus on the details, on the small things, on the different shades when I visit a city, when I cook a dish, when I want to know a person deeper...
    For this reason I chose this pic. I was walking and suddenly I noticed these small flowers on the ground. I was taking a picture and another foot decided to be part of it. I like this pic because at the same time it's dynamic and static and also because the "protected" flowers are really small compared to the ground but because of their colours and position everybody can see them.

     Actually I shot this picture last Saturday while heading back from the coastal walk from Watsons bay to bondi beach. Nevertheless, as I scrolled down the 30 briefs, it came back to my mind while reading the 'create distance' category.
     Obviously the visualisation matches the basic brief principles. But as I took the foto, I thought about captain cook or the other historically unknown mariners, who landed or randomly got stranded on this bay many years before. Maybe these reflections were based on the appearance of the ship, it was an old, lovely restored cruise, which is now available for tourist cruises. Or maybe I had it in my mind due to the upcoming, quite discussed Australia day, also called Invasion day. Anyways, the reason why I choose this photo in relation to the category 'create distance' is more about the recent effects of this huge event on the 26th of January. Needless to say, that I don't know  anything about the complex difficulty regarding the politcal situation of the indigenous people. From my point of view, this particular event, to celebrate and to ground such a young, melting pot nation creates not only pride, a community feeling and prosperity, unfortunately it creates heavily blankness, anger and in the end the worth of all: distance.

This is not a photo taken during my stay in Australia, actually I took this photo many years ago in my country. 

    One of my favorite things is to find silent places where I can sit, look into the distance and enjoy the beauty of nature; maybe the reason is that this kind of scenario make me feel at peace and helps me to forget about the fast and noisy life in the city. I took this photo during an excursion of one of my classes at university.  The place is called ' Lagunas de Siecha´(Siecha lakes) and it's located in the Chingaza National Natural Park. After a 3 or 4 hour hike, we arrived at the top of a mountain where I could sit, rest, look at the distance and enjoy the lake and also the mountains in the background.

    Looking for sunrise there, I woke up very early at dawn.
    Actually the memory that I fought against the cold and sleepiness at the top of mountain is stronger than the beauty of the sunrise.
    However, I was an instagramer so I tried to take many pictures (in fact, I thought it was the last chance to see the sunrise, because I hate the cold!!) and suddenly a car passed by the only road to get to the observatory at Mt.     What’s up? Hope you’re doing well.
    I’m sorry for yesterday, but I couldn’t pick up the phone ‘cause I was in the class. 
    Anyway, I’m really fine. Sydney is a lovely and livable city, I like the energy, the fact that there’re a lot of public parks and above all that everyone seems to be incredibly relaxed and easy-going in a natural and authentic way (I guess that the sunny conditions and the proximity to the stunning beaches play a key role;)). I’m sure you’d appreciate the city as I do.
    This afternoon I went with some classmates to a marvelous beach called Coogee Beach. What can I say… it was just amazing. There was a swimming pool with the sea-water, I’ll send to you a pic later. The funny and at the same time interesting thing is that alcohol is totally banned on the beach. O.o

     Sorry for the late reply to your email but I have been quite busy the last couple of days. Additionally, I'm still dealing with the time difference as I'm catching up on over 50 what's app messages from the 'past' when I use to wake up.
    Anyway, I'm really happy with my long term accommodation, after my first experience in the apartment shared by students at the beach. Unfortunately Sydney is not famous for his cute,  fluffy and wild living  koalas (so far not seen any of them ...😭 )... actually they call the city 'cockroach capital'. So guess what was my welcome committee after a 25h flight in the spacious and luxury economy class...
    But let's move on, my room is great, the hosts are typical Australians - as far as I'm able to describe it after 4 weeks - meaning caring, polite and with an international background :) Actually the whole city is mixed ... and under construction: people, culture, architecture and last but not least food (they are doing a pretty good job when it comes to food).
    But what really hit me - even still - are the safety concerns and the politeness of these people. Everywhere - in the city, the outback is maybe another story - people make sure that you are safe and sound (even the usage of a  toilet isn't  spared out).

    This even was created to reduce the heat though so if you want to attend it, you should prepare light clothes otherwise, your good ones will be destroyed. Because in this month, the temperature in Thailand is unbearable event for us the local. Most visitors' skin have turn red like shimps on fire. Come to think of it you with a red skin would look really ridiculous. (don’t worry your skin will turn back to normal colour in no time.)
    Hope you send back your answer soon, the festival will start next month and the transportation will make you lose your mind (or your hair.)
