One case of the government promoting equality and fairness is when interracial marriage was declared legal in 1967 one case that kinda portrayed it is Loving Vs. virginia below this is the part of the story.

"When the Supreme Court heard arguments in the case

Loving v. the Commonwealth of Virginia, defendants Richard and Mildred Loving chose not to appear in person. In 1958, they had been convicted for the felony of miscegenation. As lawyers presented their arguments, 17 states remained steadfast in their refusal to repeal such laws banning interracial marriages. But, though he did not attend the arguments, Richard sent a message to the justices: “Tell the Court I love my wife and it is just not fair that I cannot live with her in Virginia.”

The justices unanimously agreed. On June 12, 1967, proscriptions against interracial marriage were declared unconstitutional."
-Time.com
https://time.com/4362508/loving-v-virginia-personas/

This is an example of the government protecting basic human rights because the government used the human rights argument and that help the women and her family in this story keep away the violent ex partner like it's said in the story below.

"A social worker from the domestic violence team in a local authority used human rights arguments to get new accommodation for a woman and her family at risk of serious harm from a violent ex-partner. She based her case on the local authority’s obligation to protect the family’s right to life and the right not to be treated in an inhuman or degrading way."

(Example provided by the British Institute of Human Rights)

The government shows that they want to represent the majority but at the same time they want to protect the minorities. The example below shows that when it comes to some and i think all of the voting well at least in the Czech Republic.

"The 1992 constitution of the Czech Republic, for example, recognizes the concepts of majority rule and minority rights. Article VI says, “Political decisions shall stem from the will of the majority, expressed by means of a free vote. The majority’s decisions must heed the protection of the minorities.” The Czech constitution is filled with statements of guaranteed civil liberties, which the constitutional government must not violate and which it is empowered to protect."
-Annenberg Classroom
https://www.annenbergclassroom.org/glossary_term/majority-rule-and-minority-rights/
