Instead of formulating a good, logical plan, they instead run basically head-first into they’re attack on Jack, eventhough  Piggy can barely see. In a last attempt to reinstate civilisation Ralph goes after Jacks tribe to get the glasses back. He tells them they would have happily shared the glasses- which shows Ralph trying to bring back some dignity and kindness.
