She has a good life with Baba, Mama, Isa, and Fatima but riots and political stuff start happening in her city. Then her apartment basement gets ambushed and Isa leaves the home to go to another apartment. Soon after, baba decided to let Jude and mama go to America. Jude was sad because she has to leave everything behind including Isa, Baba, and Fatima. When Jude and mama get to America they move with Mama's brother (Jude's uncle) and The uncle's bratty sister Sarah in Cincinnati. Soon Jude attends an American school and she is nervous. She gets through all her classes and ESL. Later, Jude decided to explore the town with her new jacket (Jude's favorite jacket was gifted by her aunt.) and meets Laila in a Syrian restaurant. She is having fun at school and enjoying the time. At home, Her mom gives her the news that she is having a baby girl! Ecstatic, she finds out there is a school play and automatically wants to audition disregarding the warnings by Laila. Jude eventually gets a part but not the one she wanted. She got the part of Plummet (A maid). Jude starts the stage crew and meets Miles. Miles likes all kinds of space things. One day, She goes to Laila's restaurant and sees a sign that says t e r r i s t. Of course, she cries and Runs from the sign, and Miles tries to calm her but her mom does. To lighten things up a little soon she gives birth to her baby girl.
