The swing set would be at the freedom playground because when you are swinging on the swing set you feel free like your flying. Have you ever been on a swing and looked up at the sky and felt like you were flying through the sky? It makes you feel free and like there is nothing there to stop you from doing what you want. This demonstrates freedom. Rousseau believed that everyone should have this feeling in life and this is why we put swings in our playground.

The see-saw represents two people working together to create an equal balance. Rousseau believed that people had to create a balance between society and freedom. Of course you cannot have too much freedom, but you still need some freedom, it can't be all society taking over control.

Rock walls are at the playground because they show that Rousseau believed you should be independent. You do not need others to overcome a challenging task. When you go up a rock wall, it is very challenging and hard to do, it might take a couple tries to reach the top. Eventually, though, you will get there and you do it all by yourself. Rousseau believed that people were naturally very independent and could do things by themselves.

The slide at the freedom playground represents happiness and educating your senses. On a slide you usually feel happy and you get a rush that heightens your senses. Rousseau believed that people should be naturally happy and that the main role of education is to educate your senses. If you go down a slide, you go fast and it gives you an adrenaline rush because you are rapidly changing what you are seeing and feeling. This is educating your senses and making you more aware. This demonstrates what Rousseau believed about education and what it's role in humans should be.

The rope bridge demonstrates how enlightenment thinkers, like Rousseau, were crossing a bridge into a new and better time of equality and independence. He believed that people were independent and equal and a bridge demonstrates relying on yourself to change to a better person. In other words, cross a bridge to being a better person.
