Due to their costly contributions to the French and Indian War, Britain struggled to gather enough funding; as a result, Parliament passed a series of acts in order to generate the lost revenue which prompted the taxation of American Loyalists. The most notable acts are the Sugar Act, wich taxed sugar and the Currency Act, which removed paper currencies from circulation.

Americans began to critize British control for their way of interfering with colonial affairs. The British settlers denied colonists the same rights that other British shared as the colonists wanted to popularize absolute ideas of commitment to liberty, equality, government of people, and the rule of law. These rules, ultimately, stood for Egalitarian ideas which influenced the new republic.

Parliament issued the Proclamation of 1763 in hopes of creating a peaceful coexistence between Native Americans residing [in what is now known as the United States]. This law forbid American settlers from consoling on native territory unless native rights to the land had first been obtained by purchase or treaty. Additionally, it prohibited settlement in the West, which irritated Colonizers, as owning land was seen as a means of liberty and freedom.
