My client for the 'outside of Ravensbourne freelance) work will be my friend called Owen. I met Owen through college during my creative media production course, of what he studied too. Owen used to stream a lot via twitch with the content of paying games, his channel was called 'Foxygaming'. As he as gradually over this time stopped streaming, I thought being my idea was to gather some of his streaming footage and put together a Youtube style video for him. 

This idea has stemmed from the online content creators called 'Sidemen' who are mainly known on Youtube with multiple channels revolving different styles of editing. Their main channel has just under 18M subscribers. Watching 'Sidemen' for years brings so much joy into my life. They recently have also created a BTS website, where you pay monthly subscription where you can see all the behind the scenes, camera work and sometimes editing work which interests me. (Konstantin) being their main cameraman and editor has his own youtube channel where he posts editing on the sidemen's footage. 

Going back to Owen, I have spoken to him today initiating the idea and he has granted me permission to promote his streaming service. After attempting the first animation for the introduction as well as the finish, I have also realised that transitions between texts are slightly harder than I thought. In the way of how smooth they need to flow between the two. It is hard to make is look seamless with the special animations I want to create.  

I have come across a very frustrating issue with my After Effects, I am unsure what the reason for this issue is but whenever I am morphing two text layers together the alignment always changing and doesn't stay put within the centre. This was a practise of giving a client what they need, in guidance of the specifications. In the brief Tim had sent the group, it is a promo for a company called MSCTY. The promo needs to include the woman putting on headphones, camera rises up through the city and reveals the MSCTY logo and URL. As well as this, I followed the frame size, rates and format for delivery. The MP4 file I have attached above is my first rough cut. After the deadline 4pm the same day of the workshop, we showed the class individually our promo's. After making lot's of notes for future improvements, I will use this project as part of my portfolio. There is a game called 'Gartic Phone' I play with my friends in my spare time. On my Youtube for you page, I came across an interesting video called 'Pros are animating in Gartic Phone'. 

I found this video extremely inspiring and made me remember how I want to get more into animation as I draw in my free time. To be an animator in the future would be a great career choice for me, with some experience needed behind me. I have linked another video by the same creator 'RubberRoss'. I loved the style on how they draw the frames and it has inspired me to create something along the same lines. Because of this inspiration, I have bought an Apple Pencil to use with my Ipad to use on ProCreate, which I will buy when my pencil arrives. 

My idea here is to use the animation sector in ProCreate to do something similar in this style, with the inspiration of RubberRoss and his animator friends. I showed Greg my progress on Project One being the typography showreel intro. Greg had thoughts on this projects which have enabled me to rethink the project thoroughly. Instead of doing an introduction for my showreel, I should use these keyframes and ideas for this project to change into a music lyric video. Notes for this will be on the 20th March.

Greg showed me a folder on Aula filled with rushes from projects I haven't worked on, which I can use for this project as one of my things to replace or work on. Going through the folder with Greg, I found rushes to an edit of a horror edit which I will be attempting to edit. I have downloaded the footage on my laptop, ready when I am to begin that project.  Notes for this will be on the 20th March.

After discussing with Greg how I have lost interest and motivation to complete my original ideas for some project, Greg reminded me that I can use previous project rushes which I haven't worked on before. This made me remember the 'I am A Flower' audio I hadn't worked on before in first year which I always wanted to. Notes for this will be on the 20th March.

I have now downloaded the 'Top Sheet' which will help me keep me organised and updated on how many hours of work I am up to. The goal for the amount of hours I must have done is 175 hours.

Typograpy Project

For this project, as I have a lack of interest Greg has given me the idea to create this idea into a new one of a music lyric video in this same format of typography and motion graphics.
I will try to remain the same keyframes I have already submitted however to change the text and to work with the music. I will choose an existing song either from my Spotify or I will use an existing audio track I haven't used back from first year (I am a flower). For this new idea, I will create sketches and a new draft of storyboard. However, If I cannot find a viable song to use. My backup is to research into a music track to depict a company which I could use for this inspiration into an advert. 

Rushes Folder on Aula
I am thinking instead of competing in the EPP Promo, I will create an edit from the 'rushes folder 2023' on Aula which I didn't know about. After looking in this folder, I have downloaded footage of an edit called 'Ashes' which falls in the horror genre. The duration of this project is 12 minutes, however I will create my own brief depicting my own goals using the rushes.

Tim's Motion Graphic Workshop
I will still continue on my progress with this piece, however I still have to make the updates which I wish to. This project is half way done, and have got notes from my wishes on a previous section on this padlet.

Animation Cartoons on ProCreate
I will also continue with this idea. I will need to create ideas on what cartoon design I want to go for, and the story for the animation. Using this youtube video as a reference, I have noticed throughout the entire piece that not much is going on. The text appears in a fast transition and stays on screen, not static but slight movement happens with distortion to the text. I find this to be too basic and boring, especially for a third year almost graduate piece is too easy. On the other hand, what has inspired me from this video is the small white lines drawing in behind the text. My inspiration from this video reminds me of a dated rap music video which has neon line drawings (almost animation). From the 30th March I had completed the animation background. I then rendered and exported this Adobe AE project to a H.264 so it was easier to open this into a new composition. Above I have attached a screenshot of my composition of my second project. After restarting my project, I ensured that I added in all of the changes I want to make before throughout this process. 

I kept in the same footage of the woman wearing the headphones at the beginning, however I dragged this segment out just a tad longer than my original cut. I wanted to do this because I wanted to make sure something interesting was happening throughout all 15 seconds of the music ident. In the original cut, I had red Tokyo buildings, however I changed the saturation in this cut to blue. I changed the colour palette in this version as I think the colours work better than previous. I did this by looking at the guideline PDF Tim gave me within the package of assets. 

While completing this specific project, I learned how to control audio within After Effects. I know how to adjust audio in Premiere, but I didn't know how to adjust volume levels in AE. However, after adding in fade in and outs, I have learnt this skill. Another skill which I learnt is how to use the pen tool in AE in order to do a 'handwriting' effect. I used the original cut to inspire me of the scenes and cuts. It also gave me a basic understanding of the storyline, while assessing the script. I colour coded all of the folders so it was easier to me to acknowledge them within my timeline. I went through every clip in the folders and picked out my favourite cuts, aligning them where they should be placed. 

Now that I have finished my first draft of the project, my next few tasks are to watch the entire timeline and look for any improvements within the visuals. Making sure of any black frames where shouldn't be and making sure everything is at my wanted duration. 
After checking the visuals are good, I will add some effects if transitions are needed. Titles will be added in this step. 
Thirdly, I will adjust any audio which needs to either be added or altered in the timeline.

Inspired by 'SidemenReacts', I would like the duration of this project to be about 8 minutes long. 

On the other hand, if hopefully my extenuating circumstances form gets approved I will have more time to finish Project Five. 
Project Five will be a completed After Effects, Illustrator and ProCreate title sequence which I will create for a specific film. 

Ideas I have for this will be based on:
- Mission Impossible
- Pink Panther
- James Bond
- Friends 
- John Wick

I firstly created the shape layers at the beginning of the project, added keyframes on the scale from small to fill the screen. I then animated the fox logo to fit centre of the screen, and changed position to centre left. I also animated the eyes so it changes direction and looks at the text rushing in on the right, then bumping into the fox logo.  
    After animating the position of the "FoxyGaming09" title, I added in a flame effect on the fire above the i in "Gaming". I then animated the text further with more scaling, adding glitch effects and shadows.
