From these books, we are developing themes based on virtues. This effort will be linked to our UberReads initiative, which serves as our "library on wheels" to promote literacy and reading on campus.


    Students will select books to order, and these will be delivered to their classrooms. Incentives related to the virtues will be implemented, utilizing AVID strategies. Instead of traditional tests, students will create a one-pager on a poster board as their culminating assessment for the book they read. These posters will be displayed in our entryway to promote further literacy and encourage other students to read.

During library resource classes, K to 5, the library teacher will share these read-alouds and guide students through a writing activity and hands-on activities that reinforce the featured virtue.
