Moving to a new school as a 3rd grader, I had always looked up to some of my "Ates" from the student council because of how accepting and welcoming they were to new students like me. Seeing them go up that stage to represent the whole school and lead us for a better school year, that deeply inspired little me to follow their footsteps. Looking back, I had always been an introverted person, so to have the opportunity of being a part of the student council, it allowed me to let a newer side of mine blossom and shine. When I first ran for Batch Representative, which was a pretty significant role, I lost to another well-known classmate. Despite the feeling of defeat, this only motivated me more to use this as a learning experience and work even harder in order to be a role model for others.

As I got to know everybody and showed them my full potential of adapting, working efficiently, and just generally being a good student, I then ran for Class Vice President during my 5th Grade Year and I won in a landslide. Ever since then, being the Class Vice President for 3 consecutive years, it taught me about hardships, teamwork, resilience, solidarity, organization, ensuring that students' voices were heard, and paved a way for my personal growth. Taking part as the support and inspiration that students need, it built a deeper understanding for me, my classmates, and teachers. This motivated me to also be that "Ate" inspiring the younger generations to lead and be a good influence to their peers.

Now that I'm also a part of the student staff of ROTC, it has taught me the same life lessons and a space to hone my leadership skills for whatever the future offers me ahead.
