Firstly, I need to say, hey, you did really great this year! Embracing our flaws and insecurities is definitely something easier said than done because most of the time we are overwhelmed with what people expect from us, instead of understanding what WE actually expect from ourselves. So it's important to always take time to look at ourselves and see what is actually ok and what is not. If you feel drained by doing too much to live up to people's expectations, it IS OK to take a break. You won't be able to receive the love you deserved if you yourself aren't willing to show your vulnerable side to people who value you. So it's ok Flomilli, it's ok to be sad, it's ok to remember why you're sad and mourn. It is ok to be sad as long as you see it as another starting point for your recovery. :) So for that, I think the song that suited you the most at the moment would be "Whalien 52" by BTS, I hope the fact that it's a kpop song won't make you hesitant to grasp it's concept, musically and lyrically. It may sound cheerful and pretty upbeat but it is kind of contrasting to its lyrics which tells a story of a 52-hertz whale who has a hard time letting his voice be heard to others because of its vocalizations that are much higher than most whales. Interestingly, even the fact that it is quite depressing that he is called as the loneliest whale, he never stopped trying to let his voice be heard. I hope just like this whale, you won't give up reaching out to people and engaging with them because little do you know, you actually have the most brightest energy that people and you yourself should value more than anything else. By the way, you can also try listening to "Paris" by the 1975. I always listen to that song when I'm emotionally confused :)

Cheers to an euphoric 2021!

It is definitely alright to have a hard time figuring out yourself. We're all humans, we DO make mistakes, we DO act irrationally at times, and we DO feel confused with ourselves most of the time. I think finding who we really are is a lifetime mission, therefore we may need a long term strategy or if you prefer to confront it as it is, it is also ok. You're getting through it either way. Don't push yourself too hard. :) I think the song that you need the most right now is "21" by Will Joseph Cook.

Here's to a better year!

I get that student life can be really really overwhelming at times, especially right in this pandemic. We have to adjust with so many things and we are expected to basically get used to it after some time. But some of us may need more time than others and it is also ok. Follow your own pace and just remember the thing that matters the most right now is your wellbeing. If you need time then take your time. It is OK. It will be ok. I hope this song will help you to relax and step back for a bit, let your mind and body get the rest they deserve. I think this song is relaxing because the singer's voice has a calm tone to it but if you think this song is still a lil too upbeat, you can try listening to "HONNE - no song without you" instead. That song's instrumentals really blend with the singer's voice. I hope you have a great day and well rested. :)

Cheers!

You have a really great potential and overall I think you're already perfect at what you're doing so don't undermine yourself. If you think no one's really appreciating on what you have done and what you are doing, I DO. Many people do, and you should too. If you are thinking of opening up about your issues to people, don't hesitate. It is always okay to express yourself whenever you need to. I believe if someone truly cares about you, they will do anything to understand you better and help in some way, but not everyone's good at that. Not everyone is good at being a friend, they need help too. So don't hesitate to be really specific about your problems and issues, be really clear on what kind of help do you need. If you need someone to just listen, then tell them you just expect them to listen and not do anything else. But if you truly need help in some way, then tell them specifically, so that it would be easier for them to comprehend on how they can support you in any way. Reach out. There's always a hand that would catch you, sooner or later. :) On that, I will leave you with this song, one of the most beautiful songs I believe. The singer's voice really stands out in this song and I hope your voice would too. :) If you prefer listening to a heavier song, you can try listening to Joji's "Ew". That song is pretty heavy, in my opinion. The instrumentals, high vocals and minimalistic lyrics really depict human's complex emotions. I hope you are able to relate or resonate with the song somehow. :)

Cheers to a dreamy 2021!
