This part of life inspires me because I got to spend my favorite day with my favorite person, my mom. I was very excited when she asked if I wanted to celebrate my birthday at Disney. Even though it was a small gesture, I think that it’s so cool how people I don’t even know would like to wish me a happy birthday. This mask is celebrating the different times I have found true friends. It’s purpose is to show the impact an honest and understanding friend has on someone’s life. For example, I have been friends with someone for her entire life (I am older than her but only by two weeks) and it gives me a sense of stability. I would also like this mask to show that people can be there true selves when around people they trust.

I chose this idea as my source of inspiration because I have always dreamt about finding me best friend for life. I have several best friends but I am aware that these relationships might not last through college (especially if I move to Germany). I have always wanted to find that one person who I can do and share everything with.

Some clues that I added to my mask in order to convey my message include spots of grey fading away to represent the fact that I can be my true self around best friends. I would also like to add a space in the middle of my forehead to remind myself to be open minded since you never know what a best friend looks like. This mask will resemble a human face with eye slits (to represent the constant hunt for a true friend) but I would also like to add dragon scales. As you may know, I love dragons. Not only will this detail help show that I can be myself, but it will also show that friends can have the same interests but can also disagree with you. In addition, I will add drawings of friendship bracelets near the eyes and yellow flower petals (the yellow rose is a symbol for friendship). I also used star sequins at the top to show that friends always think the best of you (6 out of 5 stars) and the crossed arrows at the top is a known symbol for friendship. The fact that both sides of the face are very similar also shares that there are two faced people and you have to be able to recognize a toxic friend.

This part of life inspires me because I have always loved having a good amount of jewelry and good clean clothing on. So this is a big part of my life as fashion. This works as my inspiration creation because animals are very inspiring to me. When you look at the mask you instantly see the panda. Pandas are black and white, with what is going on in America this is to show that we are all humans. Skin color doesn’t mean anything.
