I learned more about juxtaposition, it is a Satiric device that links together words, or images that do not fit together.

I also learned more about situational irony, which occurs when there is discrepancy between a purpose and a result.

I learned more about juxtaposition in-depth like when the scenes in Roger and Me jumped from 2 unrelated topics. As well as Socratic irony when someone for example could like to ask questions about something to dumb themselves down and make it seem like they do not know something to convince someone of their help.

I expanded my understanding on the term whitewashing and how common it is to place positive things over an all time bad predicament.

I also learned that there can be more than one satirical device that is being used in a scene or sentence, when asked which one, you should choose the one that contributes to said scene/sentence the most.

I felt that the two main things I gathered from the prior class were the use of juxtapositions which highlighted two situations that connect but don't go together and the usage of sarcasm, with its main purpose of verbally mocking someone while praising them simultaneously.
