We talked a lot about how make our schools and school works International. International Policy is important because global issues are important in our lives.Schools should provide students, teachers and families with the opportunity to partecipate in International works. As a result , all will experience a new awareness and knowledge about global citizenship and they will be more open to new ideas.

“Let’s open our mind”

Today we worked in a very stimulating environment, the island of Gosier, a real natural paradise. We tried to set up an international project keeping in mind a well-defined scheme: introductions, aims, objectives.

The choice of wanting to do an international project in one's school starts from a fundamental need: to train teachers and students on global issues in order to educate to global citizenship where everyone is committed to promoting a sustainable, equitable and inclusive world through the involvement of all the school components and through activities of sharing, integration, multiculturalism, global identity. The skills to be acquired include: knowing how to move from the local to the universal by developing a holistic dimension; knowing how to grasp interdependence, knowing how to think critically, knowing how to act responsibly for the common good.

"Imagine there's no countries, it is not hard to do ..."

Today session focused on the need to internationalise the school curriculum; to do that, we discussed the importance to establish an International School policy with a well defined international committee.

One of the means the international committee can use to get our schools more and more international is to set up an international project.

Among the various benefits an international project brings, the improvement of teaching and learning languages and the improvement of the key competences and skills seem to be of the outmost importance: students need to be better educated to be able to study and work in a foreign country by acquiring transversal skills.

Increasing the awereness of the global dimension of staff and students will also increase the awareness of the community, helpig society towards the common good.

Todays session was held in the most wonderful surroundings. We worked on international school policies for our schools. My school already has one, but it was good to re-think the activities we carry out in the school now and in the future. I had some good ideas for future activities at school. My principal is very supportive and the staff at school are dedicated and takes part in the international work. I have realized, that we should share our knowledge with some of the other schools in our area.
I enjoy to be here with a college, we helped each other, when we wrote the international school policy. I am the international coordinator at our school, but I strongly feel, that louise takes ownership in the international work at our school by being here, being a part of this course. I enjoy that. It will be great to carry out international activities and dissemination of the course, when we are back in Denmark.

Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.
