When Roosevelt became president he wanted the people to have the power again and not the corporations of america. The image on the left shows what the american government was like when he first came into office, he didn't have much say or power. When the square deal was passed one of the 3 C’s was to control corporations. The image on the right shows that he regained the power the government should have.

During the progressive era black rights did not improve and were largely ignored. Plessy v. Ferguson ruled that segregation was legal, claimed to keep races “separate but equal” with Jim Crow Laws. The NAACP was formed during this era, This organization pushed to end racial inequality. Politicians at the time didn’t do anything to improve the racial inequality since they were afraid to lose their votes in the south. The issue was basically swept under the rug and looked passed.

During his second term as president he signed the Hepburn Act, this was meant to regulate railroads. Roosevelt also signed the Meat Inspection Act and the Pure Food and Drug Act; which was put forth because of the book "The Jungle", exposed what would happen in the factories that produced our food. Overall Theodore Roosevelt did plenty of good as the President of the United States, so much that his accomplishments still impact us today.
