Schools were hit the hardest during the Great Depression because many schools lacked funding/ they were not able to be supported by the government. Tax payers were a main reason many children got to go to school. The Great Depression affected many schools and limited the number of classes and supplies that were given out to each student. Rural areas were not as supported as urban areas, so many of them were shut down due to insufficient funds.

This poem describes the suffering many families went through during the Great Depression since many banks went bankrupt, many people couldn't have access to their life savings. “The Stock market crashed, the money loss was vast, farmers couldn't grow food.” The Great Depression affected every aspect in the United States, from farms to businesses. Children were also affected by lack of money because some went days without eating. I chose this poem for a particular reason becuase it was from a mother during the Great Depression sharing her thoughts and concerns in the form of a poem which I though was very sympatic towards many people through the concerns she worried about

This infographic shows what children did to entertained themselves during the Great Depression despite the hunger they constantly faced. Many families incomes dropped from $2,300 to $1,500 between the years 1929 to 1932.The Great Depression was the deepest and longest- lasting economic down turn in the history of the Western Industrialization world. The board game Monopoly, which first became available in 1935 became immensely popular perhaps because players could become rich- at least in their imagination.
I chose this infographic because it captured my eyes and allowed me to virzulation what children really did to entertain themselves during these dark times.

This political cartoon shows Franklin Roosevelt in the middle of six children dancing around him. The political cartoon represents the Library of Congress Cartoon of FDR as a 'father figure' surrounded by children dancing in a circle around him with abbreviations of some names of the organizations he helped make during the Great Depression. I chose this political cartoon because it seems very persuasive in a way that captures the reader to be informed about this topic(the Great Depression)

This poem mentions how tough life was for mother’s and their children during the Great Depression and the constant worry each family had. The constant anger expresses how severe many families were, without carpet on the floor and food on the table. I chose this poem because it is unlike any other. The constant fear of not being able to provide food on the table to the growing concern of schools potentially shutting down, these things were all worries for families.

Although many schools were shut down or could barely function some schools handed out food to children during these desperate times. I chose this photograph becuase it displays how many children didn't receive food at their home because of a low income and being unable to afford it.

This Graph shows the decrease in babies being born due to a lack of money in each family. The Great Depression sufficiently limited the number of babies born due to hospitals also being occupied by other illnesses as well as many families couldn't afford to have another child or even take care of their current child. I chose this Graph because it shows the life expectancy and the number of babies being birthed. As you can see the number of babies being birthed is extremely low due to the difficult times everyone was facing at the time.

This affected children because this meant that many of them had to get jobs to support their family before their parents died at the young age of 63.
