Where there was one dominant emporium in the Straits of Malacca in the 15th century, by the turn of the 16th there were several. The Portuguese presence survived largely by allying itself with one or several of the local states.<br>3. King Portugal heard the news about the wealth of Malacca. Triggered <strong>Portuguese to monopolize</strong> Malacca. It was taken over after that.<strong><br></strong><br></div>]]></description>
