Nicolás Maduro is not brilliant either as a statesman, or as a simple citizen and whose origin remains a mystery, however, he managed to implement a dictatorship worse than the Cuban and North Korean dictatorships thanks to a diligent work initiated by Hugo Chávez, who paradoxically came to power by democratic means.

Nicolás Maduro has only completed the disaster and the collapse started by his predecessor. Without having any political preparative out of a vehicle where he was a driver the current dictator could not be more inept in his record as chancellor but his loyalty to Chávez and the Castroites prevailed. He was cultivated by Havana as a possible "fifth wheel" and demonstrated his foolproof loyalty to the Cuban ruling dome who gladly supported him to replace Chávez, over Diosdado Cabello too astute for Havana's purposes.

Returning to democracy and freedoms will depend on the help that Venezuela can receive from abroad by applying isolation to the regime of Nicolás Maduro. However, it should not be forgotten that it has allies such as Cuba, Russia, Iran, and China, with their own interests aimed at the profit they can draw from the still-rich oil nation. For all this, the road to recover democracy and freedoms in Venezuela is long and full of difficulties
