A great way to incorporate QR codes into the classroom would be by using them to mark daily attendance. You could hang a code somewhere in the front of the classroom, so that as each student comes in they can scan it. It will lead to a site like classdojo where each student can mark that they're present without you having to call each student's name, because that takes up time.

As I talked about in my QR mini task, QR codes would be great for small group activities. One that comes to mind is learning about geography. You could set up a few stations, and each one have a QR code that directs you to a different place in google earth.

Say you have an assignment, it's multiple pages with different articles or reading chapters, and the students are being asked to answer questions about each one. This could take 5 pieces of paper per student, or even more! You could really reduce that waste by using QR codes to each article instead of printing them all out. This is just one example of how you could reduce the waste of paper by using QR codes, but there are so many more.

You could leave a QR code hanging in the classroom that links to a form, where students can give the teacher feedback, ask questions that they have, or even use this resource if they know there is something going on that a teacher needs to know about. It would be great if the students could leave these anonymously, because I know I had a few teachers that I wished I was able to make suggestions to, but I wasn't comfortable doing that.

Say you're taking notes on world war 2, and things surrounding that. It would be awesome to be able to teach 1000 different things about the subject, but teachers have only so much time, so they can really only get to the requirements. It would be awesome to be able to add QR codes that send the students to extra information about the topic, like more information about how Anne Frank lived, photos of concentration camps, etc. Not every student may care to learn about any more than the requirements, but I know there were many topics I went home and researched further into because I found them interesting.

Another awesome way to incorporate QR codes would be for students to be able to see their progress, grades on assignments, what assignments are missing, etc. There isn't always time for teachers to get a one-on-one with each student, and let them know what's missing, what they're doing great on, and what they could improve on.

Something's I always did in class were bell ringers and exit tickets. We had a question to answer before class began, usually about what was learned the previous day or what we know about the topic we're about to learn, and a question at the end of class asking something about what we learned that day. It would be an easy way to do these if you just put the QR code up on the projector and it sent the students to a site where they could answer and turn in that bell ringer or exit ticket.

You could use a QR code to link to a daily or weekly agenda/checklist. This would be a great and simple way to keep up with what the students have to do each day, checking things off as they go. They could also see any upcoming projects or tests, and homework they need to do.
