When people don't expect the best out of everything and believe in realistic things. Another thing is setting unrealistic standards. One that doesn't say "I am going to marry rich or I am going to be rich when I am older"  or something along these lines, you will most likely be less happy. People who obsess over materialistic things instead of things that will mentally make you happier, will make you more stressed and less happy. People who consider every new opportunity tend to be more happy because new adventures create adrenaline rush and helps one make the most out of every situation. The biggest thing is to be self aware.
