My favorite city is Rome, the capital of Italy, it’s one of the most ancient cities of the world, and it’s the most popular in Italy, this is the fourth most filled city in the European Union. Also, it’s one of the most important cultural centers of Europe. Rome is the center of Catholicism because the Vatican City is inside it.

It is the city with the highest concentration of historical and architectural goods of the world; it becomes one of the most touristic cities in the world for its history and beauty.

 

Between the most outstanding places they are:

-          Roman Colosseum: it’s the most important touristic place in Rome for its history.

-          Roman Pantheon: it’s the most preserved and influential building of ancient Rome. It is a Roman temple dedicated to all the gods of pagan Rome.

-          Trevi Fountain: it’s the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world.

-          Basilica the San Pedro: it’s an Italian Renaissance church in Vatican City.

 

Holidays

-The birth of Rome is celebrated on April 21st; it’s feasted by representations in disguises, musical events and playful manifestations.

 

- On May 1st, the holiday of the workers: they organize a free concert in the square; it carries Porta San Giovanni in Laterano.

 

- The Holiday of the Republic, it is celebrated on June 2nd; the traditional military parade develops along the route via dei Fori Imperiali, and ends in Piazza Venezia

 

- Noantri's Holiday, it is carried out in Trastévere. It is feasted on the first Saturday after July 16th on the occasion of the worship of Virgen Del Carmelo.
