When microplastics enter the animals, the predators of it will take in the microplastics, and may die, and when they are eaten, the microplastics will be transferred to the animal that eats them, causing that animal to die. When too many of the same animal die, it's predator will have less food to eat, causing it's population to decrease, and thus distrupting the food chain.

Micro plastics in the filter feeders could accumulate, until sharks feed on these organisms that have a lot of micro plastic, it reaches to a point where there is a drop in the number of sharks due to death caused by the plastic taken it. This could make the shark species go extinct and cause the food web to be unstable due to a lack of predators.

There can be fines imposed on littering on the beach or any water bodies. There should also be many people or cameras watching, to catch perpetrators. There can also be a campaign in order to reduce plastics being dropped into water bodies. Lastly, General Education. Schools should teach students about the effects of microplastics creatively so that it will be engaging. Companies should hold talks to educate.
