I was particularly interested in the reading on the three prevalent themes respect, educate, and protect. The respect piece is something I kept looking at especially in the times we are living in. It is so easy for us to throw things out online that are hurtful because we can hide behind a computer. We educate our students to treat each other with respect in the classroom, so why don't we also teach them those same rules for online. I describe digital citizenship as best practices for responsible behavior when using technology. What I say and do online is not only a reflection of me but also my company. I need to make sure that I am careful what I put out there.

I loved how it started with the core themes of respect, educate and protect. To me, when I think of digital citizenship, I break it down as being a responsible user of technology (using it wisely and safely/protect), having consideration for others when using technology to communicate and collaborate (social etiquette/respect) and understanding the way all users learn when using technology to teach (educate). Thinking about all the elements of digital citizenship will impact how I go about setting up online/technology-based workshops.

I'm interesting about digital rights and responsibilities, and it talked a little about the people rights when they use online easily and full freedom. After that, how people can take the responsibilities during browsing online and how especially students get responsibilities when they use online inside the classroom or outside. During reading, I think we have to give students guides that can show them how they can be safe. Then, they could protect themselves easily in the future.

I appreciated how the idea of digital citizenship goes so much beyond just 'internet safety'. In the world wide web, standards should be set and reinforced for students on how to become good citizens just like in 'RL'. I think many parents and some educators believe that ethics are the same both offline and online; but time and time again we see cases of this not being true as individuals post things online that they would *never* say outloud or do to another person offline.
Finally, I think that the three core themes, 'respect, educate and protect' are great values that can be a 'catchphrase' for teaching digital citizenship. In addition, I can see many ways in which the subsequent core elements can be adapted for students of all ages, applications and understandings of a digital world. This study wants me to become a library media specialist even more so I can focus on this with my students!
@MsEllenEick

I believe that , all of them are in the interest of the students and progress in the sense that in Edcafe learns students how they make plan and how they can coordinate or organize and rely on himself in his education also they feel comfortable with education and Learn the steps of planning and gaining leader skills. However ,qualify the student to be the best teacher in the future of the rehabilitation and practice of such programs.

The article talked about three core themes – respect, educate and protect. It gives us the important steps that we should follow when we use technology in a classroom. I think both teachers and parents are responsible for teaching students how to use the internet safely. The teachers can monitor their students in the classroom, but they can't watch them all days. Both educators and parents should teach students how they should behave in the same way whether they are on or offline. Teachers should help students know how to protect their private information when they use the internet. Finally, the digital citizenship will play a great role in my work since the technology has become an essential part of the education process.

The article emphasized an important task; that we as teachers should learn and teach our student all about digital citizenship. As an educator, digital citizenship is all about how to respect other on the internet, benefit from the free information, and protect yourself from being harmed. In my class, I would teach my students how to be safe and legal when they use the internet. Also to let them think what kind of thing they want to post and to be aware of what is on the internet is there forever.

Digital citizenship is creating awareness of what students, children, technology users are acting,creating and doing online. I believe that it is more than just a technology tools that students should use, but also it teaches them how to understand the rights and the responsibility of using the technology. Also, digital citizenship makes students aware of behaving safely and thinking critically. Thus, my job as a teacher will be concentrating on weaving digital citizenship smoothly throughout the curriculum and lesson plans for my students. It makes me think how to develop healthy environments and attitudes when I use the technology during teaching in classrooms or outside the school .
