of stories I knew when I was young. I went through a crucible but I had perceptive mentors and a brave group of friends. And this is the final test on the real stage, with everyone watching, and it takes all my courage and energy. And then it's over and I'm surrounded by family and friends and exhausted and happy and alive." - Anonymous

Liam Wallace says "Call Time

I really like the ritual of call. My days are always rushed and stressful but it all stops once I get to the theatre. It's an hour and a half before we open, so there's no worry about somehow being late for the performance. And everything is simple and ordered after I sign in. I descend the stairs to my dressing and get to check in with the cast and crew, my friends. We share bits about our days and I get my hair and makeup together. By the time costumes arrive I already feel a bit like Eilert. I get dressed in Eilert's clothes, put Liam's stuff away, and walk upstairs to warm up. By the time I've passed through that hour and a half my day, even if it was bad, or exhausting, or stressful, has been filtered away."

Sasha Seaman says "Art History Creates better Historians

and that includes theatrical, and literary history, as well. If you have an understanding of the personal and social issues that become a priority for an artist, an author, or a playwright, it expands your understanding of human history in a way that memorizing dates and political parties could never do. Empathy makes for better memory, and sometimes stories teach you more about someone's beliefs than the actions they take ever could, because people's actions are a step removed from their thoughts. When you study a history of the arts as well as a history of the facts, you are given insight into both."
